I had the real pleasure of sitting down with Jerry Salas singer, song writer for the band El Chicano for over six decades. Jerry is bringing his All-Star band to Crawdaddy‘s June 17th. This is an All-Star cast, including local great Rudy Paris, who really is the person that I give credit for for bringing live music to Crawdaddys years ago. These players have played with names like Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Toto and many more. In the kitchen with Chef Guillermo. We’ve had multiple requests to show you how we do our Crawdaddy mac & cheese. In this version, we add shrimp, but often, we use chicken, or many people order it. This has been one of our staple dishes since we opened 20 years ago. This is a great dish to prepare for hungry kids as it is relatively inexpensive. Today I’m going to let you know that this wonderful building and restaurant is going to be sold in the near future to a fantastic gentleman named Colin Wyrick. I can’t say for sure how soon that change will be, but it will be in the near future. The thing that I am most happy about is Colin is keeping me around as general manager and you will notice no changes to the day-to-day operation of Crawdaddys. My prayers have been answered because one of my biggest goals has always been for Crawdaddys to go on for many years to come. This ownership change assures the long-term loyal employees here will continue with no change or interruption to their employment. Colin Weirick is a amazingly successful entrepreneur with a lumber empire, and also owns many restaurants on the central coast of California. The future of Crawdaddys is in great hands and for that I am very thankful to my Lord and Savior for bringing Colin to Troy and me! Troy and I want to thank everyone for your many years of love and support, and we both look forward to seeing the success of this amazing place for years to come!!
